The New Death Star

Cole receives the Lego catalog in the mail and he spends hours pouring over the pages.  He was very interested in the Death Star, and wanted to ask for it for a gift.  We explained to him that he wouldn't be getting it any time soon, because it is for 12 year olds, had over 3800 pieces, and mainly because it was $600!  Instead of being discouraged, Cole enlisted Mark's help and they spent several hours and almost all spare parts to create their own Death Star. 

Below is one view of the original Lego Death Star.  Underneath that, you will find Cole and Mark's homemade version. There are many features that are very similar - the laser beams shooting out of the side, the garbage chute, conference rooms, secret passageways...

 The boys were pretty proud of their version!  And it is still being played with 4 months later!
