Cole and Kara really had no clue who Indiana Jones was - they just knew Mom thought he was cool!
Perfect for Cole's recent Star Wars craze!Thankfully the folks at Legoland know what is appropriate for a kids 4D movie - Bob the Builder and Clutch Powers. Just fun with a few special effects. No one was eaten alive, stabbed, or anything else horrible. Take note, Shedd Aquarium!
Kara and I had fun on this ride entirely built out of Lego's! I kid - I don't know why it was at Legoland but we had fun on it while the boys kept building race cars.
We probably spent the most time in the gift shop, trying to help the kids decide what they wanted to buy. They had saved their money to buy something special from Legoland, and each of them finally found a neat set. There really wasn't anything different to buy there, aside from some keychains and figures, but an entire room of nothing but Lego's that were for sale was overwhelming.
Cole swimming to Kaitlin by himself!
Kara was brave to hold on to Kristin and Kaitlin only by their thumbs!
Kara's new Lego set - a horse / rider set from a girls line called Belville.
Cole's new set was from the World Racers line and had over 350 pieces. He was able to complete one of the two boats and a couple of the accessories before we had to leave for dinner. Cole can pretty much put together any set by himself. We just help with the occasional hard piece, make sure the pieces are secure, and put on the stickers.
We were so glad to have stayed longer in Chicago and turn it into a mini-vacation. We packed a lot into the two days and really had a good time exploring new places. Thankfully Cole and Kara love going places and seeing new things, and are so appreciative of everything we do. There is never any 'I'm bored' or 'I don't like this' or anything like that. It makes it so worthwhile for Mark and I to spend the time, money, and effort to do special things with them since we know they will enjoy it so much!
