We had a pretty good first year in Cub Scouts. We started off trying to create our own Pack at Endeavor (Cole's school) but we just didn't have the support of other parents or, more importantly, Council to proceed. So mid year we joined another Pack at a nearby elementary school. Several of the other boys also transferred so that made the change much easier. His best friend Cardell transferred, so they had a lot of fun together. Cole was able to do several fun activities with this group. When the end of the year approached, Cole said that he wanted to participate in Cub Scouts again next year. There will be a few changes in the Den and Pack that should help things go a little more smoothly.
At the last Pack meeting, the Scouts received any belt loops that they had earned (academic or sports related). Cole already had earned a Map & Compass belt loop, and this time also earned an Ice Skating, Hockey, and Bowling belt loop. They also received their Tiger badge to indicate that they completed the requirements and would be a Wolf Scout next year. This meeting was unfortunately the same day and time as Kara's dress rehearsal for her recital. So we divided and conquered - Mark and Dad went with Cole to the Pack meeting (Dad was able to take pictures since I had ours - thanks Dad!) and Mom and I went with Kara to her dress rehearsal.
