Cole Turns 7!

We can't believe our awesome son is seven already!  Cole has a wonderful personality, a great mind and imagination, is smart as a whip, has a great sense of humor, and is a friend to everyone he meets.  Cole once again got the extended birthday celebration with grandparents being out of town, a class celebration, and a friend party, in addition to his 'regular' birthday.

Cole started celebrating early with Grandpa and Nana, and was in Lego heaven as he received (among other things) a huge World Racer's set.  In true Cole fashion, two of the three vehicles were assembled within hours of being opened.
His actual birthday fell on a Friday this year.  Cole was extremely anxious to open his gifts, so he was allowed to open a gift from Grandpa and Grammie before breakfast.  We wisely chose a set of books for him to open, so he could spend the morning reading before school.
Kara and I took cupcakes in to his class at the end of the day.  The class made Cole a book about what was special about him, and several friends made him other cards as well.  He has such sweet classmates!

The two hours between school ended and Mark getting home from work were very long for Cole!  When Mark got home, Cole got to (finally!) open his gifts.  He received several gifts that he really liked - Lego's, Bakugan's, Star Wars action figures, and more.  Mark and I got Cole Dragonoid Colossus, which is a Bakugan he's wanted since Christmas.  We thought that would be the favorite of all the gifts.  We also thought the new Star Wars game for the Wii that he received from Grandpa and Grammie would be a favorite.  And while he liked those, and all his gifts, a lot, his favorite was a set of soccer players that he got from Grandpa and Grammie.  He played with them for hours and had so much fun!  It was a great surprise gift!

On Saturday Grandma Cathy came to spend the day.  Cole received a very extensive magic set and has had fun performing for us.  He also received a dvd of the Clone Wars, which came in very handy while he was laid up with the stomach flu for four days.
Cole had a wonderful birthday!  Thanks to everyone who helped make it so special!
