We enjoyed many traditional activities leading up to Easter. Through all of our fun, we never lost sight of why we were celebrating Easter.
We volunteered to take dessert to Grandma Cathy's, and not surprisingly, the kids decided to make and decorate cupcakes. With traditional coral and lime green frosting. And sprinkles. Lots and lots of sprinkles. We do love us some cupcake decorating!
We decorated a few eggs as well. The kids have loved painting the eggs in the past, but we couldn't find a kit like that this year. So we picked up a combo set, where the kids could dye, paint, or color the eggs however they wanted. They had such fun that I picked up another kit (although different) for a quarter after Easter and we'll have some egg decorating fun during the summer as well!

| Thankfully we had decided to display the eggs instead of eat them, because we found out that they weren't cooked all the way through. I also need to remember to find a cute basket or tray or someway to display them. |
We went to Cathy's Easter Eve day. We had a nice time with her in the morning, took a quick trip to see Tete, then came back and enjoyed a nice dinner with Cathy, Don and his new family (at which point the camera never came out - bummer!).
| At Cathy's, the kids have to search for eggs, their baskets, and a present. |
| Kara got several new outfits for Katie, who conveniently traveled to Grandma Cathy's with us. |
| Cole got a basketball which ended up being the gift of the century! |
| Cole spent quite a bit of time outside shooting hoops. |
| Dear, sweet Tete! |
Cole was up right around 7:00 Easter morning, despite a late night at Grandma Cathy's. Cole waited patiently for Kara to wake up, but we did have to wake her after awhile. Thankfully she woke up all happy and smiling, so it was a good start to the day.
| Ready to go! |
| Appears that both were racing to the same egg. |
| And here's Cole being the good big brother and showing Kara where an egg is. |
Later that day we went to Grammie and Grandpa's for more fun. They had just returned from their winter away a few days before!
| More favorites, Lego's and clothes for Katie. |
| More egg hunting. |
| Love this picture! |
| Neighbors have a hoop that, while technically is on their property, is closer to Mom & Dad's. We took the new basketball and Cole had a blast playing some more ball. Think it was a bit different playing against Grandpa, who is 6+ feet! : ) |
| Both kids love playing on Grammie's ipad. |
We had a lovely Easter with lots of fun activities and family time!
