Cole's Valentine's Day Party

Cole only had a half day of school, so their party was in the morning.  Their teacher encouraged the class to dress fancy.  Cole opted to go half and half - he wore his shirt and tie that he wore to Katie and David's wedding and jeans (which, honestly are dressier than the wind pants he usually wears).  Apparently our young man has grown since July because his shirt stayed tucked in for about three minutes and his wrists were very evident!  : )

A mom had a really fun but simple craft for them to do.  They made magnets that required no cutting, glue, or anything else messy.  Wonderful idea!

They also had ice cream sundaes.  First graders are even more elaborate in their topping choices, because the minimum number of toppings I saw was six, with most kids having even more!

A thumbs up for a good party and snack!

And the best part, for both of us, was that he was going to a friends house after school to play, so I didn't have to deal with the inevitable sugar crash Cole was going to have after having a sundae, cupcake, and juice box at 10:30 in the morning!  : )
